A smart, low-cost fix for damp wardrobes, cupboards and small spaces.
What it does well
- Quiet: a listed 36 dB, with no compressor.
- Simple: one button, a 1,000 mL tank with a visible water level and automatic stop when full.
- Cheap to run: about £1.42 a month at 8 hours a day.
- No refills to keep buying, unlike absorber tubs.
Great value in bundles
- 1 unit for £59.99.
- 3 units for £129.99, about £43.33 each.
- 5 units for £179.99, about £36.00 each.
- Ideal if you have more than one wardrobe or cupboard to protect. Prices confirmed at checkout.
Our recommendation: if you want an easy, low-cost way to keep a wardrobe, cupboard or other small closed space drier and fresher, the Drydon is an easy pick. Owners of similar 22 to 23 W Peltier units are consistently happiest when they use them in exactly these spaces. For several spaces, the 3 or 5 pack is the best value.

Who it's great for
The Drydon is built for one job: keeping small, closed spaces drier, quietly and cheaply. If any of these sound familiar, it is a strong fit.
Perfect spaces
- A closed wardrobe or built-in cupboard in a heated home
- Under-stairs and shoe cupboards with a musty smell
- An airing cupboard or small storage room kept above 15°C
- A small bathroom or utility space, on a dry surface away from splashes
- A caravan or storage space that is kept heated
Especially if you
- Are tired of buying and swapping absorber refills
- Want something quiet enough for a bedroom wardrobe
- Want to keep running costs to pennies a day
- Prefer a simple one-button device with no settings to learn
- Have several cupboards or wardrobes to look after (see the bundles)
Why we like the Drydon
Compact and quiet
At 145 × 217 mm and 1.2 kg, it fits on a wardrobe shelf or cupboard floor and is easy to move. With no compressor, the only moving part is a small fan, and the manufacturer lists it at 36 dB.
Genuinely simple
There is one on/off button. The 1,000 mL tank is removable, has a window so you can see the water level, and the unit stops automatically with a flashing light when it is full. No settings, no apps.
Pennies a day to run
Rated at just 22.5 W, it costs about 4.7p a day to run for 8 hours at today's capped electricity rate. That is about £1.42 a month, or £17.29 a year (full workings below).
No refills, and better value in bundles
Unlike absorber tubs, there is nothing to keep buying: you just empty the tank. And because each unit is small, many homes have more than one spot to protect, which is where the multi-packs make sense, from about £36.00 a unit.
What real owners say
The Drydon is a newer name in the UK, and we have not yet found independent owner reviews of this exact model. So we looked at owners of similar-spec Peltier mini dehumidifiers sold in the UK: the same technology, roughly the same power (22 to 23 W) and tank size. We cannot confirm any of them is the same unit as the Drydon, so treat this as evidence about the product type. The picture is encouraging.
What owners of similar units love
- Results in small, closed spaces. The most detailed report came from a HomeOwnersHub user who put a 22.5 W Argos Peltier unit in a closed wardrobe of about 3.5 m³ at around 73% humidity. It collected about 125 mL a day, humidity settled "consistently under 60%" and around 12 litres came out over four months.
- Quiet. Several Amazon owners describe these units as quiet enough for a bedroom.
- Simple to use. One button, a visible water level and a full-tank light come up again and again as positives.
- Cheap to run. The same forum user put it at "under a fiver a month"; an Amazon owner estimated about 1p an hour.
- Condensation control. One Amazon owner ran a 900 mL unit between curtains and a window and reported less moisture after a month. Another used one in an insulated 5 × 3 m garden shed and reported no more condensation, filling roughly a tank a week.
- Keeping damp at bay. On the MoneySavingExpert forum, one reply said a mini dehumidifier helps "keep the problem at bay" when combined with heat and ventilation.

Ratings and counts as displayed on 24 October 2026. Star ratings belong to the listed products, not to the Drydon.
The key to happy owners: the people most pleased with these units use them in a small, closed space and expect slow, steady collection rather than room-scale results. Mixed reviews mostly come from people who hoped to dry a whole room, which is not what this type of dehumidifier is for. Match it to the right space and it does its job well.

This is where the Drydon really shines. We used the Ofgem price cap electricity unit rate of 26.32p per kWh (Direct Debit, average across England, Scotland and Wales, 1 October to 31 December 2026). The next cap is due to be announced on 25 November 2026.
8 h a day: 0.0225 × 8 = 0.18 kWh × 26.32p = 4.7p a day ≈ £1.42 per 30 days
24 h a day: 0.0225 × 24 = 0.54 kWh × 26.32p = 14.2p a day
30 days: 14.2p × 30 ≈ £4.26 · a year: 197.1 kWh ≈ £51.88
| Use | Per day | Per 30 days | Per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8 hours a day | 4.7p | £1.42 | £17.29 |
| 24 hours a day | 14.2p | £4.26 | £51.88 |
22.5 W is the rated figure from the 9 V, 2.5 A adaptor. Actual draw at the wall can differ, and your own tariff may be higher or lower than the cap.

Why a Peltier mini suits small spaces
The Drydon uses a small thermoelectric (Peltier) module to make a metal surface cold. A fan draws air across it, and moisture condenses into the tank. With no compressor, it stays light, quiet and very economical, which is exactly what you want tucked away in a wardrobe or cupboard. Meaco's guide describes Peltier units as suited to spaces up to about a large wardrobe, and says they should not be used below 15°C.
| Peltier mini (Drydon) | Compressor | Desiccant | Absorber tub | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | Wardrobe, cupboard, small closed space | Heated rooms, flats, laundry | Cold rooms, garages, outbuildings | Drawer, box, wardrobe |
| Mains power | About 22.5 W | Yes, much higher | Yes, includes a heater | None |
| Noise | Low (fan only) | Compressor hum | Fan and heater | Silent |
| Ongoing cost | Electricity only, no refills | Electricity only | Electricity only | Refills |

Is it right for you? Tips for best results
The Drydon is at its best when it is matched to the right space. A few quick pointers:
- Use it in small, closed spaces. It is made for wardrobes, cupboards and similar spaces, not whole rooms. For a bedroom, flat or indoor laundry, a compressor dehumidifier is the right tool; for an unheated garage or shed, a desiccant.
- Keep doors closed. A closed wardrobe or cupboard lets it work on a small volume of air.
- Empty the tank regularly. It stops automatically and flashes when full, so a quick check every few days keeps it working. There is no humidity setting or timer.
- Keep it warm enough. The listed operating range is 15 to 40°C, so it suits heated homes and spaces.
- Expect steady, gradual collection. The 350 mL a day rating applies at 30°C and 80% humidity. In a humid wardrobe, one owner of a similar unit measured about 125 mL a day, which was enough to keep humidity under 60%.
- Fix the cause of serious damp first. It is not a mould treatment or a fix for leaks or rising damp. Once those are sorted, it is a handy way to keep small spaces drier.
- Place it well. Stand it upright on a dry, stable surface with the vents clear.

Does the Drydon dehumidifier actually work?
Yes, in the spaces it is designed for. In a small, closed, reasonably warm space such as a wardrobe or cupboard, owners of similar 22 to 23 W Peltier units report steady moisture collection and lower humidity, with one forum owner measuring humidity consistently under 60% in a closed wardrobe. It is not built to dry a whole room, a damp house or laundry. The 350 mL a day figure is the manufacturer's rating at 30°C and 80% relative humidity, so expect less in cooler, drier air.
How much does the Drydon cost to run in the UK?
Very little. At its 22.5 W rated power and the Ofgem cap electricity rate of 26.32p per kWh (1 October to 31 December 2026), running it 8 hours a day costs about 4.7p a day, about £1.42 per 30 days or about £17.29 a year. Running it 24 hours a day costs about 14p a day, or about £4.26 per 30 days. Your own tariff may differ.
What bundles are available?
The merchant advertises 1 Drydon for £59.99, 3 for £129.99 (about £43.33 each) and 5 for £179.99 (about £36.00 each). Prices can change and are confirmed at checkout.
How big a space can the Drydon handle?
It is made for wardrobes, cupboards and other small enclosed spaces. Meaco's guide says Peltier dehumidifiers will not control much more than a large wardrobe and should not be used below 15°C. The merchant lists an operating range of 15 to 40°C and above 45% relative humidity. If you have several small spaces, the multi-packs let you put one in each.
Will it work in a garage, shed or caravan?
It is designed for spaces kept between 15 and 40°C, so a caravan or storage space that is kept heated is within its listed range. Peltier units rely on a cold surface, so they are not suited to unheated garages, sheds or caravans in winter. For those, Which? generally recommends a desiccant dehumidifier.
Does the Drydon remove mould?
No. The merchant states it does not remove mould or repair leaks. It collects moisture from the air. Existing mould, leaks and poor ventilation need to be dealt with separately.
